The Chute Company recommends frequent cleaning appointments to maintain a hygenic and odor-free system.

How frequent should your chute, trash room, and compactor be cleaned?
Hundreds of garbage bags go down most mid-rise residential chutes every week!
Stinky, garbage-grime lined trash systems attract flies and rodents!
Not only are they gross – a dirty chute presents a fire hazard.
Monthly
20 floors +
High rises, dormatories, senior homes, hospitals
Quarterly
6 – 19 floors
Most modern mid-rise building managers choose this
Semi-Annual
1 to 5 floors
Low density / use residential & commercial
We recommend monthly  Space Foamtreatment for Quarterly and Semi-Annual customers!
Quarterly service or more frequent is recommended to maintain a safe and hygenic chute system.

3 Steps to Eliminate Flies on Your Property

By Spacey Raccoon

Did you know...

Flies are an important insect in the food chain – they provide food for spiders and other insects which feed birds. However flies pose health and quality of life issues, and as such should be persuaded to move out into the wild with the elimination of conveniences for these creatures.

Garbage is a fly's second favorite thing to hang out around, and by taking these steps you can eliminate flies from the property completely.

  • Prevent trash from piling up to discourage the breeding of maggots, and clean and sanitize the trash chute column and compactor area. Without food, flies will move elsewhere.
  • Make sure your trash intake doors are sealed properly, to keep any flies from escaping the confinement of the trash chute system.
  • Put fly traps out in key areas such as the trash room and near main drains, where the traps are not obvious to the building tenants.

Give us a call if you have a fly problem – our High Pressure Steam Blast™ cleaning process paired with our Space Foam Antimicrobial Odor Control™ drives off flies and rodents.
